File and folder manipulation
Once you decide on an organization scheme you must create
folders and move files into their proper folders.
NAVIGATE TO A FOLDER-
open an explorer window
On 98: Start / Programs / Windows Explorer
On XP:
Start / All Programs / Accessories / Windows Explorer -
double-click a folder name to navigate to that folder

use the "UP" button to go back up a level (or press the backspace key)
CREATE A NEW FOLDER-
right-click in explorer window

select new
-
select folder<
-
type in folder name and press ENTER
RENAME A FILE OR FOLDER-
- right-click in explorer window
-
- select rename
-
- type in new name and press ENTER
-
- be CAREFUL not to change extensions ( .XXX )
-
- extensions are how Windows knows what application
-
to use to open filewhen you double-click on it
