Home, Home on the Web: Building Your Own Web Site (or CD)

Learn how to create basic web pages and transfer your files to a web host or CD-ROM, plus tips on good web design. This course covers the pros and cons of many web development tools but concentrates on teaching a basic understanding of Hyper-Text Markup Language (HTML - the language of web pages) and web site design that will be useful no matter which tools you use.

You will create web pages using a basic text editor and test them using a web browser; discuss what should and should not be included on your web site, whether you need your own domain name, how to find a web host and transfer your files to it for access via the World Wide Web,
